ECO Alma Character Song CD

Okay I actually had no plan on sharing this, but because some people requested to, here I am, posting this post o3o which I don't usually do

As the title said it, I'm gonna share the recently-out CD, produced by Acronia Record's. The Alma songs are featuring Dark Feather(I'll shorten this name to DF), Lowkey(I'm going to mention this in exchange of Loki, which is a name familiar to those who were in idECO), and Minidoo Alma, as you all know.

Trass helped buy the flyfish intro for me and Katsu gave me some event shoes, so I was able to finish Lowli's look. Then Katsu felt inspired by Wafel's cuteness and wanted to make a trap too.

While looking through his dresses, Katsu found some lv 90 armor. Neither of us have a level 90 male character so I hacked into Trass's account and forced him to wear it while he was sleeping.

Characters of the Wild Family

There's a rumor going around lately--

Not one of those tall tales that old wives tell, or some passing gossip from the village. This is about a weird group of travelers. I guess they're not as strange as those folks who came here all in Innsmouth masks or those Enigma Group guys, but I dunno. There's just something about them...

 

Once a month, a caravan will roll into a town. Ten people will come out from it, 

and each of them will request a certain plant which looks like them. 

Once they've gotten all the items, they'll leave, just like that.

 

They don't have real names. They just call each other by the plant they look like. 

What do they want? Where did they come from? It's all a mystery.

I guess that's why it's so interesting.

Thought I'd share an opening bio for one of my story's best main characters, also my ECO main character too. Meet Kirisawa Reika.

“Say what you have to say, then get out of my face”, is probably the impression you get from this girl’s stare when you meet her for the first time.

Kirisawa Reika, an orphan before she even reaches 5 years old, is a human mage prodigy raised by the elves of Highborne after her parents’ tragic death. The elves took her in since she got no other relatives to do so, and the fact that she holds a terrifying power potential also caused her being alienated out of jealousy and fear by her own race. Thus she never really bothered being sociable to them in return.

As the only magister magi candidate with no partner, she became a master of Fire elements and Highborne elven magic, earning the title of “Infernal Eraser”. Stubborn, hot-headed, and reckless in nature, her blazing heterochromatic eyes show all but mercy to her opponents in battle. But even the fire goddess who is said to be able to bring down an entire battleship fleet by herself has some sensitive traits that make her seem quite childish; she is known to be defenseless in front of kittens for one, and don’t you even dare make a joke about her small chest.

Time goes by in her trials of solitude, trusting no other human but herself. Eventually she has to face the truth about who she really is, the reason behind her orphan status, and the ordeals it will bring. Inevitably, the ministry of magic has no choice but not to allow her to travel alone anymore.

She has refused every offer of partner candidates, and not a single bodyguard assigned by the ministry lasted longer than a month. She claimed them to be ‘useless insensitive robots’. Throughout those hassles, she’s still secretly digging out more out of her past connected to the magic world.

As her journey progresses and most of her secrets revealed, she became more aware of the loneliness in her solitude, yet decided to conceal it even deeper. But a blademaster she met on her travel back to her hometown in Japan saw through it, so he arranged with her local supervisor to assign his own apprentice to be her ‘temporary bodyguard’ as long as she is there; ignoring massive protests from the apprentice who had accidentally got on her bad side before, and a blazing refusal – literally - from Reika herself.

And so their story begins…

I'm really having fun. But because Kai seem entirely different from my whiny personality, here, I make a -simple- bio of Kai.

Personality

Kaius born as angsty kid. Even in his childhood days, one by one, those that he love taken away from him, and he even forced to bear sin of killing someone, of course, by his own consent, at very early age of nine. From this time, Kai got no remorse of killing, because to him... Even his own life is a life to gamble. If people don't want to die, then they better not throwing their lives on the gambling table. He, however, taught by his elder brother during few years of his sane days about importance of other's life to other people. When he's beaten out of his insanity by Alma Domigon, he started to feel remorse, but nevertheless, Kai still a power hungry person. His current personality is that of your yankee-type student, rude, arrogant, minus destruction inducing. He also shows no interest to any Emils, and think them only as "civilian who knows nothing of me.". However, he's really bashful when seeing something he thinks as "indecent", like girls with mizugi or kissing peoples. Strangely, this doesn't stop him from flirting his targeted girl.

Appearance

Usually Kai comes with many fashions when he's on free time, most of it consist of semi formal suit, contrast to his personality. Although, when inside his house, he prefers wearing tank top and long jeans. In school, he wear uniform formally like other student, although sometimes it's accompanied by other ornaments. When he's doing his mission, his suit is his beloved Vigilante set, his older brother's old set. No matter what, Kai's favorite accessory is Kuro Brooch. Along with it, he always brings his Griel Blade everywhere, albeit dressing it like a huge wooden broadsword.

Heart Mates

The Heart Mates are perhaps GungHo's way of addressing the burning need to bring Emil and his friends home and snug the player's desired NPC(s) into his/her bed, hohoho. Essentially the aforementioned gang made available as pets, they come in alternate appearances, dressed in the costumes that come with the lottery they appear in (kinda like cosplay if you ask me =3). According to the official descriptions, they are the power of their characters' heart/soul materialised.

Like the Guardian Spirits, they come one character per month, though in alternate lotteries (if the GS comes out in the first half of the month, the Heart Mate will appear in the second half. So it's GS -> HP -> GS -> HP...).

FYI, just as the lotteries with the GS also come with the Nekomata alternate costumes, those with the Heart Mates usually come with a pet as well, except for those carrying Tita and LILI (they have AS houses instead). In addition, from Tita, Belial, R'lyeh, LUX and LILI's HPs, their lottery page also provides a brief introduction of the respective characters.

With the introduction out of the way, let's take a look at these Heart Mates =3.

Class illustrations by 羽々キロ and 雀葵蘭

Do you know? The current class illustrations for 1st and 2nd Jobs are not as we see today on all official websites, and that the former set of class illustrations, done by 羽々キロ-san, is in fact way superior no matter how you look at them. It is imho enough to make you wonder what the hell the developers were smoking to have made the unacceptable decision of replacing them for something worse.

It is imho a pity that newer players may not have the chance to experience 羽々キロ-san's fine work in ECO after his/her departure from the ECO team, and this post is made to show off the aforementioned former class illustrations for the 1st and 2nd Jobs, as well as those for the Chronicle Jobs done by 雀葵蘭-san.

Note that 羽々キロ-san did not draw almost both genders together in almost all her Job illustrations (unlike the current versions), and that only 1 gender per class was used for the official websites, e.g. Male Swordsman, Female Wizard, Female Farmer, etc (same goes for 雀葵蘭-san's Chronicle Job illustrations). The Gambler is the only class that showed both genders together in official art. Another would be the Breeder, which is not shown here. However, for some cases the art for the other gender was released as well, and I have tried to show as many of those here as well. If a class has two or more images shown, the first one (left-most image) is the "official" image.

Guardian Spirits - The moe personifications of 2011

Following the Nekomata family, 2011 sees the introduction of a new series of familiar pets, the Guardian Spirits (Japanese: 守護魔 Shugoma). Released once per month through the lotteries, these lovely new additions are named after the traditional names of the months in the Japanese lunar calendar (all notes on their names found in this post are all copy-pastaed from this link and other wikipedia entries).

Like the Nekomata, they have their own quests in the game, but unlike the Nekomata quests from which we get our beloved cat spirits, you are rewarded instead with a item related to the Spirit(s) involved. Another difference from the Nekomata quests is that the GS quests are (in Japan) available for only 1 month each, after which the current one will be taken down and be replaced by the next one. In addition to the quest rewards, depending on which Spirit, with 2~3 EX Tickets (obtained also from the lotteries), the player can exchange for another special item.

Like their feline counterparts, the Spirits have a number of skills up their sleeves to aid their master in battle, though many of the Spirits have skillsets for directly engaging the enemy. Unlike the Nekomata though, they don't provide extra carrying weight and capacity.

The Nekomata, or Cattys as they are known in idECO, are sometimes considered to be as much a mascot of ECO as the 6 (now 8) race representatives. In this light it's no wonder that GungHo would continue to go the extra mile and keep them attractive, at least in terms of appearance, to us players. Since late April 2010, ECO has been releasing alternate costumes on a monthly basis for our beloved cat spirits through the lotteries (thus further ensuring their sales and showing the Koreans how to do business without screwing with the game settings.... ehem). This post is dedicated to showing off those costumes (and make fans die of massive loss of nasal blood, fuhuhuhu).

I'll keep this updated whenever a new costume is released =3. The images thus are arranged in the order that they are released.
