Short guides to new (to us) Hanabi events

Fireworks! Hanabi events will last until maintenance on 22 Aug 2013. Enjoy~ =3

Guide #1: ガラス職人さんのお手伝い! (Helping the Glass Craftsman!) (added in 2012)

Step #1: At Uptown, speak to the Glass Craftsman. She mentions something about unable to deliver her goods to her customer at this rate and asks if you can help her. Choose option #1 (手伝う) for yes:

Step #2: She will then ask you to fetch her some materials for her work. For low level characters (wiki contributors tested this with a level 19 DEM), you'll be asked to bring 8 Glass Materials (ガラス生地). For everyone else, it's 3 Glass Beads (ガラス玉) and 5 Glass Materials:

Besides monsters, Glass Materials can also be found from Tiny Rocks during the Hanabi period.
Glass Beads are made from Glass Materials through Metal Refining (金属精錬): 1 Material for 1 Bead (requires Miner Furnace).

Step #3: Talk to her again when you've gotten everything and choose option #1 (あげる):

You'll receive a Wind Chime (Morning Glory) (風鈴(朝顔)), a nice new piece of furniture, for your troubles =3.

That's the first half of this event. To start on the second half, you need to "unlock" the South Utena Settlement first. For those who have done this yet:

1. Go to the South Utena Settlement (one map below Lake Utena) and speak to the mayor, an old chap named Barak (バラク). He'll ask you to send a letter to either his wife or daughter.
2. Go to either East Cape (for his wife Rosa/ローザ) or Dead Mine Village (for his daughter Maria/マリア).
3. Profit!

Step #4: Speak to the Glass Craftsman again and choose option #1 (開拓村を紹介しようか?) to plant her at the Settlement:

Step #5: Speak to the Craftsman at the Settlement. If you have 2 Glass Beads, she will offer to make you a Goldfish Bowl. Choose option #1 (つくって) to exchange your Beads for a Goldfish Bowl (Ryukin) (金魚ばち(流金)), yet another nice new piece of furniture:

Post-event: After this, if you speak to her again, she'll offer to remodel your Wind Chime (option #1) or Fish Bowl (option #2):

For the Wind Chime, it's a one-time change so think carefully before you decide. The alternate patterns available are Sunflower (向日葵) (option #1) or Fireworks (花火) (option #2):

Left to Right: Morning Glory (default), Sunflower, Fireworks

For the Fish Bowl, you can remodel as many times as you like, but each remodelling requires a corresponding Goldfish:

From Left to Right: 桜和金, 朱文金, 出目金, 庄内金魚, 鉄魚, 流金 (Default), 和金

For those that can't read kanji, the Fish Bowls from left to right are:
1st = option #1
2nd = option #2
3rd = option #6
4th = option #3
5th = option #4
6th = default (not listed here)
7th = option #5

If you want to switch back to the original type, just talk to her again and choose option #1 (「流金」に戻す):

Guide #2: タイニーたちとスイカ割り! (Tinies and Watermelon Splitting!) (added in 2012)

Note: Folks who can't read Japanese might want to skip this.

Step #1: You'll find two Tinies and a watermelon around the coast of Tiny Island. Speak to the Watermelon Splitting Tiny (スイカ割りタイニー) and it'll ask if you'll like to try your hand at wasting a good watermelon for 300G per try =3. Choose option #1 (する(1回300ゴールド)) for yes:

Step #2: You'll be blindfolded (the screen turns black) and then ask if you wish to listen to the rules. Choose option #2 (大丈夫!バッチリ!) to skip this. Basically, the Tinies will provide you with instructions on where to move and when to strike. There's no fixed set of instructions, which means you need to know what they're saying in order to win.

Take note that both the Watermelon Splitting Tiny and its friend the Melon Tiny (メロン派タイニー) will be talking to you, but you must follow only what the Watermelon Splitting Tiny tells you. Also, sometimes the Melon Tiny will impersonate its friend, but you can tell who's talking by looking out for the Melon Tiny's catchphrase "うにゅ!".

Should you succeed, your prize will be a Watermelon-in-a-Tub (スイカ入りたらい) (furniture, PAYL/CAPA 15/10):

You can repeat this on and on until you have enough =3

Guide #3: 孤高の鍛冶屋と獅子の星 (The Aloof Blacksmith and the Star of the Lion) (added in 2013)

Step #1: Come to Tiny Island and you'll find our old friend, the Aloof Blacksmith. Talk to him and he'll ask if you'll like to help him with something. Choose option #1 (協力する) to accept his request:

Step #2: Just as before, he speaks of crafting a fine weapon imbued with the essence of Nature and has set his eyes this time on the very constellation of Leo itself. To bring out the power of the Lion, he will need you to collect three First-magnitude Stars (1等星) and three Second-magnitude Stars (2等星) for him.

First-magnitude Star (1等星)

Second-magnitude Star (2等星)

For those who don't know, these stars are dropped from those shiny herbs (きらきらハーブ) found on Tiny Island during the Hanabi period. Be sure to get the right ones.

Step #3: Once you're done, speak to the Blacksmith again and hand him his stars (option #1 (素材を渡す)):

Your reward will be this nifty pair of claws, Lion King's Claws: Regulus:

Post-event: For folks who have the Moonlight Greatsword (月光大剣) from last year's Tsukimi event or the Cherry Blossom Spear: Sakuya (桜槍サクヤ) from this year's Ohanami event, after clearing this event, the Blacksmith will offer to change them from two-handed weapons to one-handers, and vice versa.

Option #1 is for the Greatsword and Option #2 is for the Spear:

After choosing the weapon, you'll be asked whether to make it one- or two-handed. Option #1 is for 1-hand and option #2 for 2-hand:

Note that you can change to and fro as many times as you like =3
