Short guides to new (to us) Umihiraki (海開き) events

I really need to start getting these out ASAP.... =____=

In case anyone asks, the season will last until 25 July, which means there's less than a week left to go. If beachwear, oversized sunflowers and Innsmouth cosplay is your cup of tea, better grab 'em before it's too late =3

Update (21 July 2013): Added the 2013 event.

Guide #1: はぐれタイニーを看病しよう! (Nursing the stray Tiny!) (added in 2012)

Items required: 1 x Mineral Water (ミネラルウォーター)

Step #1: Head over to South Acronia Fields and speak to the Stray Tiny (はぐれタイニー) found at the spot circled in red here:

Step #2: The poor thing is dying from thirst and would like to have some Mineral Water. So be a nice person, choose option #1 (ミネラルウォーターを差し出す) to do so:

Step #3: The Tiny is saved from dehydration but it's still feeling rather out-of-sorts. Unable to move, it turns to you for help. Choose option #1 (助ける) to help:

Step #4: You'll be asked to seek advice from the Know-it-all Tiny (物知りタイニー). Head over to Tiny Island and speak to the Tiny found at the spot circled in blue:

Step #5: After learning the situation from you, the Know-it-all Tiny will give you a Tinyaki (Event) (タイニー焼き (イベント)) to be brought back to its wayward pal. Return to the Stray Tiny. When prompted whether to pass the Tinyaki to it, choose option #1 (渡す) to do so:

Step #6: Unfortunately, even after filling its stomach, the Stray Tiny is still not fully recovered. Return to the Know-it-all Tiny. It'll inform you that the Stray Tiny needs to cool its body and gives you an Empty Pouch (Event) (空っぽの袋 (イベント)) for this task.

From here, head over to Cape Northerin and double-click on the Empty Pouch. Choose option #2 (使う) to use it and the Pouch will become an Ice Pack (Event) (氷のう (イベント)):

Step #7: Return to the Stray Tiny and choose option #1 (氷のうを差し出す) to hand over the Ice Pack:

Step #8: Congratulations, you've successfully nursed this troublesome fellow back to full HP! Time to claim your reward but before that, you'll be asked if you're ready. Choose option #1 (大丈夫) if you have enough space for the reward item (5.0 PAYL / 5.0 CAP) or option #2 (ちょっとまって) if you need to make some space first:

The reward for your help will be a swimwear of your choice. Depending on your gender, you can get to choose between two types:
  • Boomerang Pants (ブーメランパンツ) or Trunks (トランクス) for gents,
  • Onepiece (ワンピース) or Bikini (ビキニ) for ladies.

Aftermath
After that, the Stray Tiny resumes its wandering, disappearing with a flash of white screen. Speak to the Know-it-all Tiny and it'll tell you two things.

First, it's worried that the Stray Tiny will get lost and asks you to check on it again. Sure enough, the fellow's back where you last saw him. If you've unlocked the South Utena Settlement, you'll have a choice whether to send this chap over as one of its new residents. Choose option #1 (開拓村って知ってる?) to send it to somewhere drier than this place >=D

Second, it speaks of a person at ECO Town's Shop zone that offers dyeing services for your swimwear:

This guy hiding in the corner

He'll first ask if you'll like to dye your swimwear (choose option #1 if you do), and then he'll ask which swimwear to dye (in descending order: Boomerang Pants♂, Trunks♂, Onepiece♀, Bikini♀). After that he will offer three options to choose from: an alternate pattern, the downsized version of the alternate pattern or the downsized version of the original. You can check the available patterns with this link (search for ブーメランパンツ or トランクス for gents and ワンピース or ビキニ for ladies).

Note that once dyed, you won't be able to switch back, so think carefully before you proceed. For the downsized versions, your characters' bodies will become shota-fied/loli-fied (for example: boobs -> pettanko), so folks that swing that way can consider those =3.

Guide #2: 夏バテ対策! (Measures against heat fatigue!) (added in 2013)

Items required:

- 5 x Apples (りんご)
- 5 x Oranges (オレンジ)
- 5 x Potatoes (じゃがいも)
- 5 of any ONE of the following:
  • Gall Bladder (クマノイ)
  • Honey (蜂蜜)
  • Rune Herb
All these items can be found from Tiny Island:
  • Apples and Oranges from Tiny Trees;
  • Potatoes, Gall Bladders and Rune Herbs from Tiny Herbs;
  • Honey from Tiny Flowers.

Step #1: Speak to the Onee-san Feeling from the Heat (夏バテ気味なお姉さん) at the spot circled in black:

Step #2: She asks if you have any good ideas for dealing with heat fatigue. Choose option #1 (何か身体に良い物を食べたら?) and suggest eating some food that's good for the body:

Step #3: The Onee-san agrees and adds that fruits would be great for this purpose. She then lists apples, oranges and even potatoes if we go beyond fruits as her choice of ideal food. Choose option #1 (もってきてあげましょうか?) to offer getting those for her:

Step #4: You'll be asked to bring her five of each of these items: Apples, Oranges and Potatoes. Speak to the Onee-san again after you've gotten everything and choose option #1 (あげる) to give her the munchies:

You'll receive an Innsmouth Headgear (インスマウスの被り物) as your reward (the dev team and their Innsmouth obsession.... =___=)

Step #5: Speak to the Onee-san again. Apparently even after having the fruits (and veggies) is still not enough to get rid of her fatigue. Choose option #1 (他に何か対策とかあるの?) to ask if she has any other ideas in mind:

Step #6: The Onee-san will ask you to help bring her five of any ONE of the following: Gall Bladder, Honey or Rune Herb. Choose option #1 (任せてください) to accept her request:

Step #7: Speak to her once you have collected five of any of the items she asked. You'll be prompted with a menu about which item to give: Gall Bladder, Honey, Rune Herb (in descending order):

Congrats, you've completed the event and made a lady happy! =3 Your reward this time will be a Large Sunflower (大輪のひまわり), a 2H Other-type weapon =3

The rewards for this event =3
