Item Recycle System - Go Green for Acronia!

This is basically a compilation of my forum posts on the Item Recycle System (hereby shortened to IRS).

The IRS came to jpECO as one of the updates on 23rd Feb 2012 (along with the j47-50 Chronicle skills, the 3rd instalment of the Alma Monster Saga, etc etc). The idea behind this system is that after six years since its launch (or at least that's the case for Japan), Emil Chronicle Online has accumulated quite a sizable amount of items, many which have become junk after the years of changes and some that don't even have a use to date (aside from selling to Guild Merchants and gullible suckers). The IRS is thus introduced to collect unwanted items and at the same time "recycle" them into tangible benefits for all players.

Let's take a closer look at this system.

To begin, a Recycling Apparatus is installed at each city and village:

- Downtown
- Tiny Island
- Titania Beach
- Westfort
- El Ciel (lower level)
- Tonka Island
- Fareast City
- Morg City
- Northern Promenade
- Iron South City (upper level)
- East Cape
- Battleship Island
- Cape Northerin
- Cape Southerin
 The Recycling Apparatus.

Just like using a Trash Bin, clicking the Recycling Apparatus will open a window for you to dump your stuff in.

Your recycled items will contribute World Points to a World Gauge, pretty much like how grinding/questing adds exp points to your experience gauge (it also seems that different items will give different amounts of World Points). When the World Gauge hits 100%, it will be able to activate a World Event (set to come once every three months in jpECO), giving the entire server any one of the following benefits:

- Exp and JExp 1.5x bonus;
- Card assemble success rate up;
- Weapon enhancement success rate up; or
- Card slot opening success rate up.

Note that the jewel at the top will light up red and the Tinys will turn the "mill" round and round~

Only one effect will be active per activation. They will be rotated with every new World Event. After activation, the World Event will last for two weeks, during which any new item dumped into the Recycling Apparatus will not add to the World Gauge (in other words the recycled item is effectively wasted). After the Event ends, the World Gauge will be reset to 0%. The player can check on the World Gauge by right-clicking his/her character.

In addition to World Points, every character that uses the IRS will get Recycle Points which can be used to redeem ECO Medals (2,000 Recycle Points for 1 ECO Medal). This ECO Medal is to be used on the newly-installed "ECO Lottery Vending Machine". As of now the rewards will be IM from Lottery 1~7 though more may be included in the future (players can choose from which Lottery to redeem their ECO Medals). Clicking on the Recycling Apparatus will bring up an option "Go to (a) Secret Location" where you'll be teleported to where these Vending Machines are.

FYI, players can also get ECO Medals from the Daily Stamp system (which has not been implemented in idECO yet).

Things that can be recycled: Equipment, DEM Chips, stamps, furniture, scrolls, some pets, seeds, old IM stuff etc.

Things that cannot be recycled: Anything that's bought from NPCs, Event or Quest items, Electell Lab and CP rewards, all types of treasure boxes (Wooden, TC or Container), IM stuff from the present Lottery, etc.
