Short guides to new (to us) Otsukimi events

The Otsukimi events are a lot simpler (though still tedious) compared to the previous events, with pretty nice rewards. They'll last until maintenance on 26 Sep 2013. Enjoy~ =3


Before we begin, please note that we will need the following items:

1. Moon Drops (月の雫 (イベント))

Total amount needed: 26 (25 for guide #1; 1 for guide #2)

Moon Drops come from the Otsukimi Cinnamon (お月見シナモン) that are found on Tiny Island during the Otsukimi period. Note it's not a very common drop and you might need to spend some time to gather the required amount.

2. Dango (White) (お団子（白))

Total amount needed: 10

This come from the Silver Grass (すすき), Cinnamon and Otsukimi Dangos that appear on Tiny Island only during the Otsukimi period. Otsukimi Dangos seems to drop them at a higher rate so try farming those if you're still missing out some after gathering the Moon Drops.

And with that out of the way, let's carry on...

Guide #1: 続・孤高の鍛冶屋と月の雫 (Continued: The Aloof Blacksmith and the Drop of the Moon) (added in 2012)


This is actually a semi-old event with a follow-up added in this year.

Step #1: Once again on Tiny Island, you'll find our old friend, the Aloof Blacksmith, this time under the towering tree near the Quest Counter Maid. Talk to him and he'll ask if you'll like to help him with something. Choose option #1 (協力する) to accept his request:

Step #2: This time he is preparing to call upon the light of the Moon and will need 20 Moon Drops (月の雫 (イベント)) for this task. If you're done with the collecting, speak to the Blacksmith again and hand him his Drops (option #1 (「月の雫」を渡す)):

Your reward will be the Moonlight Greatsword (月光大剣) a luminous 2H Sword:

 

This was where this event had ended in 2012. This year, the following has been included as well:

Step #3: Speak to the Blacksmith again. Now he would like to craft a shield to go with the sword and asks if you'll like to help him with this too. Choose option #1 (協力する) to accept his request:

Step #4: You'll be asked to gather 5 Moon Drops this time. Once you're done, speak to the chap again and choose option #1 (渡す) to give him the Drops:

Your reward this time will be the Moonlight Shield (月光の盾).

Post-event:  As with the Hanabi event, folks with the Moonlight Greatsword or the Cherry Blossom Spear: Sakuya can choose to change them from two-handed weapons to one-handers, and vice versa. Refer to the Hanabi events guide for details.

Irrevelant rant: I'm still waiting for a 2H sword in ECO that looks like a real longsword (like this or this)....

Guide #2: お月見タイニーのお願い (The Ostukimi Tiny's Request) (added in 2013)


Step #1: At southern Downtown just outside the Armory, speak to the Otsukimi Tiny. It'll ask if moon viewing is fun. Choose option #1 (楽しいですよ) for yes:

Step #2: The Tiny then tells you that it would like to go moon viewing as well but is too busy to do so. To make up for this, it asks if you could at least get some Moon Drops and Dango (White) from the moon viewing site on its behalf. One Moon Drop and 10 Dangos (White) will be required. Choose option #1 (いいよ) to accept this request:

Step #3: Talk to it again with the stuff it had requested and choose option #1 (いいよ):

Your reward for helping out the mascot of ECO is an Otsukimi Dango (Rabbit & Silver Grass) (お月見団子（兎とすすき)), an Airship furniture that gives +5 to your Airship inventory (provided that you haven't reached the max limit of 100):
